Wanted: Fireblade engine

Hi there. I'm after a Honda Fireblade engine, any year/model considered. Must come with everything required for it to run. I am looking to spend about 500.

I am located in Edinburgh, and would require it to be delivered.

Thanks :]

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm? If you look on www.ebay.co.uk , you will see 500 is not overly wishful for a 92 - 95 engine with 25k+.. I'm not asking for a recent year, injected with < 5000 miles!

From experience and I'm sure that most people would agree, that you will probably be paying at least £800 for a blade engine with everthing you need to run it. Most breakers at present are quoting a grand for these....

Getting one with everthing for £500 would be a good deal. - but good luck in your hunting.

For info I'm also currently looking for one for a friend who's budget is £750 - £950 depending on age and condition.

Regards, Mark.

Mark, I recommend contacting Andy Bates at AB Performance (Tel. 01284 703101)
I bought a '94 'blade engine package off him for around £900 which included an engine which has been stripped (he does this with all his engines) and the mains and big ends replaced with genuine Honda bearings. An uprated clutch was fitted with Barnett springs and the anti-rattle spring removed and replaced with an extra friction plate. He also checked and replaced any parts necessary in the gearbox and fitted Samco hoses to the engine.
My package also included the wiring loom, coils, CDI, reg/rect etc.
He's an ex British sidecar champion and Knows blade engines inside out.
He's also involved with racing a blade engined Westfield and so knows whats involved in building a BEC.
He is a very personable guy and all to willing to help/suggest solutions to any problems you may have.

Andy.

with a bit of searching its possible to buy locost blade engines.
i bought 2 1993 engines on ebay for £300 although 1 has a rod thru the crankcase, a wiring loom for £10, coils for £10, rectifier for £10, and CDI for £15.
i also found a 1995 engine for £400 so it can be done.
