Brake Lock Tabs

I know this has been discussed before and that the hub to disc bolts require lock tabs (Cortina) but I was watching an MG is born or re-born or whatever on Discovery and shaw Evans use lock tabs on his calipers.

Does any one know if this is required?

Cheers

Ford also fit disc shields as standard, but most folk bin them...

You *could* get rid of the lock tabs...as long as you have another satisfactory way of ensuring that the bolts are not going to loosen.

Dont just build it.....make it!

Ford used them on the Cortina, Vauxhall/Opel never did on the chevette/manta/ascona/cavalier/monza/mk1 senator/commodore/rekord etc etc etc all of which used the same tye of setup as the cortina........................................................who was "right"?

Discs and calipers never seemed to fall off either car!!
