The new Jag is designed by the same person which designed the Aston Martibn DB9,hence the resemblance.Plus, they always said the Jaguar XK8 was the poor man's Aston!

The Aston BD7 and the XK8, share the same floor pan..........the old XJS (Jaguar)..
As Ford own Jaguar and Aston they also share many parts with.............the Mondeo.
You could say the Jaguar X and S type are just the new Ford Scorpio....hence thats why you now see a few X-types driving round as taxis... (well, in these parts)......multi use of parts.
Yup, the same designer as Harry B said and keeps manufacturing costs down!
