windscreen demisting system

I have used a small hair drier to do the windscreen demisting system, and I don't know if it is enough to pass the SVA.
1 - How do SVA's inspectors juged of the efficiency of the windscreen demisting system ?
2 - Is it necessary to have a tell-tale light device on the dashboard for the windscreen demisting system ?

Can you prepare the car for SVA without the screen?

I did my sva with windscreen.

1) up to the tester, no guidelines
2) I did not have a telltale, I used 2 small electric heaters on relays.

regards

Andrew

No tell tale needed. Inspector at my SVA just stuck his hand behind the screen to feel if there was warm air flowing. Seemed easily satisfied on this point.
