mr2 engined beetle

let me start by explaining my situation.
i live in tanzania and am a transporter but i also build my own trailers and bodys.

earlier on this year i went to india to get married and my brother who we can refer to as little bastard or just bastard, 'borowed' my mint mk2 mr2 turbo (41k km on the clock). got drunk lost control pulled the hand brake and went head on into a fence.

the mr is beyond repair the dashboard has come forward and the front is crushed.

now my whole family has gone anti sports car as they think there not safe.(well most cars arn't with a belly fulla beer)

well ive seen in town parked up a old beetle with split rear screen and stuff.
(can u see where im going yet)

I wonder has any done this before or could any one point me in the right direction.

That could work out fine, making an engine frame that would bolt and/or weld into the VW. Be pretty easy actually.

The real question is, will you be happy with the performance of it?

STOP!!!!

you can't butcher a split beetle like that.

get the beetle import it to the UK.

and buy something better suited with the money you make.

thanx for info

hi guys thanks for the info.
yeah i know what split beetles are worth in england, i grew up there. Its near impossable to export a car from tanzania, due to wank legislation the comunists left behind, you need a letter from the president and then you can apply to the bank of tanzania.

Get the front brakes off the MR2 as well or you'll be joining your brother (the bastard) on the other side of the hedge.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

In this case the car was way far gone - so ripe to have a bit of fun with- well A LOT of fun actually!

Rio- do you have a pic of that split screen- would be nice to see it

Maybe I shouldnt be encouraging potential butchery of an early 50's beetle but heres a link to grafting in an 1.8T engine into a bug using existing floor
