gearbox for Zetec

Whats the best gearbox to use for a 2.0L zetec.

I know they use the type-9 but which model has the best gearing for the zetec?

Built black pinto MK, black blackbird MK, yellow pinto MK. Now working on a Sierra.

Of all of the gearboxes that will fit, *as standard* a type 9 from a V6 will have the best gearing. That is, the best from a bad lot - even this box is far from ideal in such a light car! Bear in mind that the V6 input shaft is approximately 1" longer than 4 pot boxes. This means buying/making a gearbox to bellhousing spacer, or shortening the input shaft.

If you think there maybe the chance of upgrades in the future, just fit any type 9 you can get your hands on. Before I bought a Quaife gearkit for mine, for the traffic light GP I never used to bother with 1st gear - just let it have it in second....

Dont just build it.....make it!
