X - flow Help please !

Went to refit my cylinder head lat night and took out my new gasket to find that it doesn't fit (big style)1.3 x-flow
I've checked the cast marks and have the following:
Cast mark on head: T10 37 which Haynes says is 1.6
Exhaust valve size: 31.4mm which Haynes says is 1.3
Inlet valve size: 38.1mm which Haynes says is 1.3
Cast mark on block: 711M - 6015 - AA which Haynes says is 1.3
I belive cylinder bores are the same for 1.3 and 1.6 its just a different crank throw.
So I'm now confused as to what I have and what gasket to ask for. I don't have the old gasket as it was binned a long time ago.

Any clues ?

TIA

As far as I remember the head gasket is the same . Is it too small around the cylinders ? If so you may have a Fiesta gasket set . I would check with your suppliers. I believe the only different head gasket is one made for the 1700 conversion until you get to some specialist gaskets.

wasn't the 1100 a narrower bore?

could be a gasket for that.

Think you will find that all 1100, 1300 and 1600 had the same bore size , capacity was changed by different crankshafts giving longer stroke. The basic flat heads all used the same casting just different valve sizes. The 950 Fiesta I think may have a smaller bore but I'm not sure.

Bore may be the same for a standard block but is his gasket or bore standard?

For the block, the key thing to look at is whether the pistons have any markings on top (e.g. +0.60, +0.30, +0.90 are common rebore sizes)

Thanks for replies.
I think I've been given a duff gasket even though the pakage states OHV 76 - on
It's too small in all directions, width and length. The bore for the pistons is the right size and they are standard pistons.

BTW how do you put the smiley (or mad)faces against your message ?

1300 and 1600 blocks are not the same. 1600 is taller by approx 1in .1976 is around the time Fiesta was introduced , suspect you have a Fiesta gasket set and as already stated 1700 conversion uses bigger bore gasket.

So if you fit a 1.6 crank into a 1.3 it makes it a 1.6 ? is this right ?

No , the extra capacity is achieved by the block being approx 1 in taller

Just click on the smilies to the right of the writing box as and when you want them. However when using monzila firefox, i've found these tend not to work for some reason (may just be the config of firefox on my PC though).
