mobile phone help

Help please

my wife wants to transfer some photos from her phone a samsung e700 to the computer. as it doesnt have bluetooth we bought a usb data cable which came with a installation cd
the problem is when i plug cable in to computer it asks me to insert disc then it seems to install okay and a box appears at the bottom saying your device is ready to use, i cant figure out how to find the device on the computer and transfer photos

Hope this makes sense

usually your phone would be added as an icon beside your other drives. It can then be browsed via windows explorer or equvilent.

also usually , with these sort of devices, you should install the software from the disc before you plug the phone in.

Yes i have tried installing disc first and then connecting phone to computer but that still didnt work
do you think the disc with the driver on could be faulty?

thanks Antony

have you looked on the 'my programs' list on the start bar, there should be a new entry highlighted there. My nokia also stuck the icon on the desktop. Failing that, try a search for various things, starting with the phones manufacturers name.

Have you double clicked 'My Computer' and looked for a Removable Disc. Thats wher my phone appears.
