Dip and Full Beam

After weeks of fannying about I finally bit the bullet last night and put power to my loom. Good news no smoke but sidelights come on but no dip or full beam. I get the flash function working on the head lights.

Every thing else light wise works so any clues as to what it might be. It was late last night when I founf this out so I haven't checked the wiring into the switch which is my first thought.
Any other possibilities ?

Cheers

Have you used a changeover relay ? think it should be orange. You haven't fitted the wrong type if thats possible? Check the fuses, and test for power at bulbs . I know you said main beam works on flash , but worth checking the obvious things first. Could possibly be faulty switch especially if it has been sitting around in the donor for a while, contacts can corrode.

Does the relay click when you switch the headlights on? Might help to localise the problem!

Are you using both sides of the switchgear?

There's a crossover wire between them, brown/black which carries the lighting earth from one side to the other. They don't work if this is missed off. It joins terminal 15's on older switches and 56's on later ones.

yours, Pete

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
