wiring help please

I am sure this has been covered before but I have read the treads & now I am confused
I have the chance of buying 1.6 L reg escort with obviously a 1.6 zetec engine in it
Which I would be swapping a 1.3 cross flow, in a book built locost . It’s a complete car so I would be using as many parts from it as poss. . My question is can I use the engine management & wiring loom ?
Some treads say fit other aftermarket engine management systems, do you have to have other modules fitted for the loom to work ?. Has anyone use original wiring etc from donor a car ? I’m trying to keep the cost to min if poss.
Cheers
Steve

It's not an easy wiring job, standard loom can be cut about but you would have to be a good auto electrician. Imobiliser, door sensors and a load of other stuff that have to be sorted. Better of with a megasquirt? If anyone has managed it do you have a wiring diagram?

Yep understand immobiliser etc, but door sensors ?
Would it be a case of chopping unneeded wiring ? To get the thing running ?
May be wrong but immobiliser, crank senor , temp, air flow etc needed, rest in bin ?
Whats the cheapest & easiest way ?
may not get cheap & easy together I know

Not quite that simple I'm afraid. Most late Fords have all sorts of security related sensors built in. I was hoping to use my Mondeo loom and ECU but I was a bit optimistic to say the least!.
You are better off with an aftermarket ECU (I went for MBE) and custom engine loom. Not the cheapest way but you end up with a reliable setup.

another option is buy a manifold from altiss engineering or bogg bros and fit bike carbs. carbs are around 50quid a set and around 200 for a manifold

You still have to sort out the sparks . Check out the Megasquirt DIY ECU. loads on this forum have gone that route , I'm thinking of having a go myself if or when I fit a zetec in place of my Xflow
There was a zetec to bike carbs manifold on ebay last night
