Engine number
Hi all
First time posting on this site, hopefully someone can help.
Building a Luego Velocity and have a 1800 Zetec to put in it, problem is the engine number seems to have vanished off of the engine block by the
flywheel. I have the engine number on the v5. Can I restamp this number or is it somewhere else on the engine?
Thanks. Rich.

If you can't find it jsut keep hold of the number and use it when doing your paperwork when it's SVA time.
I would re stamp it in if it were me as the SVA man may want to check it on the engine for emissions.
Welcome by the way.

engine number should be on a small ground flat area on the exhaust manifold side below the thermostat housing.

Some Zetec engine numbers seem to have been written in pencil or similar at the factory... If you even look at the thing it'll disappear. This
is not uncommon.
