rover abs problem

i have a problem with a rover run around, a tooth is missing on the hub teeth abs system i am wondering wether to change the drive shaft which is normal practice or weld a lump on or to disconnect the system which might not pass the mot, any ideas?

New/Recon or secondhand CV joint required -- no way round it as the part is not listed by Rover.

Some Rover CV joints can be a swine to get the hub/drive flange off even with a puller.

Be aware that there are some SERIOUSLY LONG delays on Rover parts at the moment. Something to do with the supply companies going bust on a domino effect

If the part is unobtainable I dont see why it wouldnt be possible to build up carefully with weld and then file to roughly the correct shape, making sure it doesnt run outside the original diameter. If you are worried about heat damage then just blob a bit on at a time alowing to cool down between welds.
Other than that its a visit to the scrapyard.
Paul.

I am not so optimistic, I have already stopped supplying courtesy cars to Rover owners

the rover parts situation is ridiculous, the amount of second hand panels iv had to fit to them over the last 6 months is beyond belief but it has to be done to get the cars out the door

Have you noticed that the patern parts suppliers are now pricing the same as genuine?
