Another body option...

Well, before you all start laughing, their Karmann Ghia body seems to be of decent quality. The prices are ok too. Do you guys think it's
possible to mount it on a Locost-type chassis?

I wonder how much room there is up front? Heheh, I know many people would think of it as sacriledge, but a front-engined, rwd Ghia would kick ass.
You'd also hav a huge trunk, too as the engine in the back would be gone...
Maybe you could squeeze in a BMW V8? (I know, relatively heavy, mehh) you'd get sort of a low-budget 'ghettofied' Wiesmann GT..

The doors would be the challenge of course.

Dont know what you guys think but personally the Karman Ghia has got to be the most perfectly designed car ever, everything about it is just right.
Considering it came from the 60's as well its even more amazing.
Cheers,
Bob

Hmm, yeah. hadn't thought about that... maybe you could modify the top section of th chassis to follow the lines of the cabin? Sort of like a
roll-cage except of course that it would not be there for actual roll protection, but rather to give strength to that section of the chassis without
getting in the way of the door. That way you could still keep the tubing as invisible as possible...
Or else of course you could fit an actual roll cage for strength and protection..
