possible cat group buy

after looking around for a decent free flowing cat for come sva time ive found these.
HERE
unlike the last one that someone found they will ship to the UK, shipping however is fairly expensive for just one but if a few people want to order at once itll be considerably cheaper.

any one want one?

UPDATE: cost has come back for an order of 10 at £35 plus postage and packing in the UK so ~£40

(please note this is without tax so may have to add vat)

Hi All,

It says they are made from 409.

409 is a cheapo stainless. 11% chrome, no nickel.

Roughly speaking 304 is 18/8, 316 is 19/12/3

409 doesn't like being welded. If you do then a 309 rod must be used, 25/20, or the weld will crack.
309 is also the rod for mild steel to stainless by the way.

Sorry about all the numbers. Confusing isn't it.

i had noticed but after searching around it seams all of the cats like these are made from 409 but at £29 is hardly a rip off. anyway im assuming most people will put them on for sva then take them off afterwards so paying £100+ for a better one isnt really the locost way.

for end tube size most people will want the 2" or the 2.5" so that it can be fitted in between the manifold and the silencer. if your engine is going to be 150bhp+ i would opt for the 2.5" if possible.

Costs so far:
for 1 it cost just over £29 with around £21 shipping. ive ask for a quote for 10 to get a rough idea as to how much we could the cost down to.

if we can get 10 orders the price becomes $44.50 with $152.50 shipping to the Uk for the lot so they will cost ~£35 plus a couple of quid extra for postage and packing costs to send them out over here.

Don't forget the import duty and vat. There's no way you'll avoid it at those sort of prices.

Even with duty and vat, it's still sounds like a bargain.

I'm in. I just need to check diameters tomorrow.

Martin.

I bought a couple from him a while back. Paid $146.86 for the pair, delivered. (about £38)

He's also happy to invoice at sub $20

Don't expect a really sparkling product like the one pictured. There's a lot of polish/flash gone into that.

There are also pretty significant "chuck" marks where the CAT is held whilst the ends are formed. But for the money I think they are fine.

Not fitted one yet, but will be soon to my Focus as I've just removed its CAT when the 4-1 went on.
