Old Pinto on ebay - NWS (engine porn)

I wish this was something to do with me. i suspect it will go for a lot more than current bid!

That would look nice in a mint white Mk1 Escort.

wouldn't it be cheaper to nat asp a yb head than buy that for the same power? better still start with a different engine (xe springs to mind lol)

the warrior head is cnc machined and is the best of the best. rally enthusiasts have used them for years

you will not get the power or delivery from a yb head, the yb was always designed for turbo applications and in n/a form is a pretty useless engine. the warrior was designed to be n/a and therefore is perfect for the job. basically the bottom end becomes the weaker component.

oh and about being heavy, a warrior engine weighs in at around 50lbs lighter than a pinto with its cast iron head. that in turn lowers the centre of gravity of the engine.

In a LSIS its value certainly is doubtful. £ for £ there certainly are better ways to get some oomph.
In a historic racer - its a real gem.
As a rarity - priceless (well not quite but you get my drift!)

Im interested to see what it makes. I somehow think the auction will get pulled befor ethe end.

Those heads have certainly appreciated in value in the last 16years! Less than £3K in 1988/89. I fitted two to customer cars.

Not if you want to go historic rallying. The only other 16v alternative for a Ford car is a BDA/BDG, or the Holbay Pinto head upon which these are based.
