Its Gone
Well, sold the locost today and I'm about to go deliver it up to Derby, so keep an eye out for me if your driving back home on the A1 then A52,
and I'll say sorry now if I hold you up!
Just wanted to say a big Thankyou to those of you who have helped me out when I've got myself into a pickle and to all those I brought bits off,
I nearly did it, but time beat me to it.
Doubt I will ever get to build a locost in New Zealand as the rules for crumple zones look a bit beyond my engineering skills, though I have spotted a
tidy looking Suzuki jeep that is in need of a much bigger engine.
The guy who has brought the car off me has joined the forum and I hope you lot can put up with all his newbee posts as I'm pretty sure he will
have loads of questions about the thing I created!
Well, thats enough from me, and I wish everyone luck for their builds.

Cheers! I just hope it doesn't kill him, its a fiesty thing when the donks running good.
I took it for a good shake down around the go cart track, its quite incredible how easy it is to get the back end smoking when hooting around a
hairpin bend. Though things went a bit pete when the bonnet flew off. Took me a whole day to fix that mess, bloody grp.
Might take it for one last spin around the field, though knowing my luck if I did that the engine will take a dump.

If you can't build a Locost out there and still want adrenalin, how about building a sprint boat.
As much adrenalin as you will ever need!

he got round the rules by pitching a tent on a beach buggy chassis..........
the dub chassis is one of the most versatile thing porsche and the nazis made.
even the rhodesian army used them to make mine sweepers for the dirt roads.!!!!!!!!!

It's actually a full spaceframe (see the spec sheet here http://www.constructorscarclub.org.nz/Resources/12-18.pdf)
It's mid engined and has a 300mm shorter wheelbase than a beetle chassis.

Hi Chris.I've looked at the car scene in Nz and it appears quite healthy.There's Fraser cars doing Se7ens,a good hotrod
movement.I've studied it deeply as i'm looking to move out there.We're there over Dec/Jan .
