Anyone going to DTM Sunday 2nd July @ Brands Hatch?
Hi is anyone from the forum going to be at Brands this Sunday for the DTM Racing?
I will be going and I may take the Indy down if the weather is good.
Not sure how big or busy this event will be and wondered if I will be able to park on Southbank or behind grandsatnd.

I'm going already got seats booked in the Paddock grandstand. Expect it will be busy, recommend take a look at multimap.com & go in via the
lanes which bring you out on Scratchers Lane opposite the Paddock entrance - you can usually blag your way into the Paddock car park if you look
confident & ignore the little Nobbies waving at you to stop!
The lanes route saves hours of queuing both in & out.
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

I have spoken with Brands and they said South Bank will be open £5 to park. I will prob get there real early about 7am - 7:30. If you venture out of
the stands I may see you.
If anyone is there and wants to meet up for a chin wag, my mobile is 07903 810 732.

I'll stick it in me phone, which I think you've already got but if not its 07905 879407
At that time I don't think you'll hit too much traffic.

So Greggors, mate, pal, friend, using your new position, will you be getting us all in the pits for a walk about?
I am just messing with you, I know the walk about is 9 - 10 and is sold out.

Had a brilliant day today, we only had to recover a handful of cars (just checked msv site and turned out to be heinz harold frentzen and mika
hakinens amongst others!) so plenty of time to take some photo's
they decided to do a photo shoot at lunch right where we were sat (well near enough) - recognise anybody?!!:
casual chitchat
ok here's another clue
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/upload/IMG_2281b.jpg
uploaded the rest/best pics to my archive:
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/photos.php?action=gal&user=ned&folder=DTM
and a couple of vids - not sped up, they really are that fast. something silly like 140mph into mclaren, 157mph over start/finish line..

http://media.putfile.com/dtm-brands-again
and standing on the pit wall during free practise was actually hurting my ears especially as we seemed to be stood where they were changing up at
9000rpm oh and they had special dispensation from the council as they are noiser than any of the normal sound regs! sadly i didn't have my camera
when Mika drove out 3foot in front of me and when we went back during qualifying they wouldn't let us back in the pitline as due to refueling
they were insisting everyone have 3 layer suits on

Had a great weekend, was pretty tiring though, 12 hours a day from thursday to sunday.
Left early thursday morning ned so didnt see your message till just now. Did you have a look round the Palmer Audi awnings? I was in the end one with
the two cars, I was probably the one looking stressed and very very hot. Was all going well until before the last race when i had to replace a broken
camlock on the sidepod but kept on breaking.
How did you get the job? You doing many other meetings anywhere else? We are at Snetterton in 2 weeks.
During our first practise session Jean Alesi brushed past me in the pits. Saw quite a few of the other drivers walking about too.
Here are a few pics from the DTMs that I managed to get when we had a small break midday sunday.
Taken near the exit to the pitlane

Coming up to Druids got a few with flames spitting out the sides but were all just out of focus

One for the lads, met a few of the girls afterwards and we got them on our podium after the second and third race.

Not really a job, more of a jolly a guy at work does the recovery at brands as he used to work for the recovery company years ago - only at
brands.
Never really had a chance to look round the outer paddock as we had to be oncall trackside for most of the day and lunchtime we chilled in the little
resteraunt behind the pits on the terrace.
Ned.
ps another work colleague who went along on the sunday got his photo taken with Jean Alesi and had to drive (being towed) one of the palmer
audi's back from clearways - the driver had gone ot the medical centre for some reason but the car only had a bent nosecone.
