Bike Carbs or Tbs

Hi All...I have been reading all i can on the Bike Carb/Tbs and the resulting Megajolt/Squirt options.

My F27 heart is a Sierra 2.0 dohc 8Valve Carb engine all refurbed and ready to go.

I was going to just put the standard carb back on but the height under bonnet issues reared its ugly head.

This engine already has a basic ecu system running the car so my options are

1. Just mod the inlet manifold but on bike carbs and run with exsisting ecu.
2. as above but replace ecu with megajolt
or
3 do the TB version use exsisting ecu loom and go squirt.

Remember unilike pintos the first N8 ford Dohc was carbed with a ecu running the lot the efi version came shortly afterwards

I would go for Bike carbs and a programmable ECU, megajolt, emerald etc.
TB's are nice for smooth running but are pricey.
If you were running the car every day then the TB's would give smoother power and better fuel ecoomy.

If the car is a toy like most are used for bike carbs will give great power and are obviously cheaper.
If you need an inlet manifold making for bike carbs see bogg brothers near malton, thats what they specialise in.

bike carbs

just a side question

do you need to run programable e.c.u
for bike carbs ?????????

if im not incorrect i think ive reached the
200 milestone

when you start this journey
you think it will be done in " no " time but then " no " turns into a " bloody " long time

No you don't NEED to. But if you want to maximise the engines output, you'll have to.

I'd go carbs & mega jolt. I am on the same engine in my car
