tidying up alloys
how would I go about tidying up these? or anyone know who much it costs to get professional to do it?

My local powder coaters charge £25 per wheel for grit blasting and re-powder coating.
I believe there is a firm that specialise in refurbing alloys tho', the complete package, including reworking kerbed rims etc. but I don't
know who they are. No doubt someone on here will tho'.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

I just did this with a ratty set of Mustang wheels for minijmum outlay of cash. I started with aircraft paint stripper, followed up with steel wool
and very fine wet dry dand paper (start with 320 and go down to 600 to get the scratches out.
Then a buffing pad on the drill or die grinder with some autosol on it.
Next, clearcoat.
The grit blasting relally works best with the powder coating but it leaves pits that the poder coat will fill in, but painting probably won't.

Oh go on, my extensive links collection has these guys - never used them myself but they look pretty good. And get those chav paintjobs they can do

I paid a "proper" alloy wheel refurbing company to do mine. The results are OK. Next time I'd jsut go to a sandblasting/powder
coating company who will charge less but probably do just as good a job.

A dremel, some wet and dry, a tin of paint and some time will bring them back. They dont look like they need skimmed or blasted.

The damage doesn't look too bad really - you could do a locost job with a little body filler and a can or two of wheel paint.

On wheels, use elastic padding on the spokes, or JB wels on the rims. Ordinary filler tends to fall out
