idle and oil pressure

I was going to ask if my oil pressure was too low at idle but having read a few other posts i think it is ok. about 200Kpa.

But my other question is how low should my idle be. I am running a pinto on webbers and it is currently idling at about 1000 - 1100 when cold and 800-900 when hot. (I guess the idle drops as everything expands and tightens up??)

Thanks for the help

Rupert

I've got a 1600cc Kent engine with a pair of twin Dellortos and it happily idles at about 600rpm. As long as it's smooth and will accelerate cleanly from idle, my understanding is it doesn't really matter

My Pinto idles around 1200 and then 800-900 so that sounds the same.
