cortina axle

Just picked up axle which came off 2.3 automatic and would like to use with rover v8 engine. I have heard that a supra box will be ok instead of rover box. Any thoughts or comments on the combination most welcome. p.s. rhs being delivered tomorrow.

Hi there

I know that there are numerous adapter plates available for the RV8, I decided to play safe and go with a recon Rover LT77 (SD1, Morgan, early TVR) box. I chose this on the basis that I had a tried and tested combination from crank to prop. Dave Ellis at DJE V8 sourced the 'box and all the bits needed to convert from a previously auto engine. Interested to hear how you get on if you go for the Supra 'box - the other option that was suggested to me was the BW T5 as fitted to the Sierra Cosworths and others. Unfortunately as soon as you mention Cosworth in most contexts things get expensive.

Good luck

Simon
