Trigger wheel mounting
I know most people remove crank pully nut and or pully to mount trigger wheel but i have a tapered pully which means this is not possible (the nut
sits about 10mm inward from the outer face of the pully).
I just had my trigger wheel milled out so it slides onto a small circular ridge on the pully but now I come to how to secure it.
The pully is cast and the wheel is mild steel. is welding a good idea or could this cause cracking? not too keen to drill and tap to bolt it on for
the same reason..
Any input would be great,

Not done it so who know if it will owrk but what about glueing it and a small roll pin to keep it from rotating (I guess you would use 2 at oppsoite
ends for balance)

Welding probably isn't too good an idea but brazing should be fine.

Hi Ian,
My first thought was i would of had an interference fit and pressed it on but yours slides on ..
you can either Braze it together or use "dis-similar" welding rods to combat the heat dispersal and diffrent cooling properties ..

I often wonder why people don't machin the notches in the crank pulley itself (the missing tooth may cause balancing issues but shouldn;t be
that hard to rectify).
