about IRS

Hi..
i have started building a locost... am in a fix about rear suspension... have seen rorty, but its too complex.... what are other designs for irs.. have searched the posts and found tiger avon. any other design except these.. please list their names and if possible also give the plans, dimensions, pics etc...

Complicated?

You have a diff, driveshafts, and wishbones.

It only takes some careful thinking about, and some even more careful measuring and you'll be done in no time.

Alternatively, you could think about de Dion?

Have a word with mk. they will sell you a back end ie. from the roll bar backwards, jig made c/w all relavant bits.

well thanks for your effort, but i live in south east asia and the shipping will cost me a fortune

With something like the Tiger Avon all you HAVE to do is manufacture the chassis and buy the uprights and wishbones from Tiger. I don't think either chassis is significantly different to the book it is the uprights and wishbones that make it more complicated.
I am looking at the moment, however, at getting the Rorty IRS upright components laser cut and will probably be getting a number of sets done, they will still need to be welded together though.
