Exhaust Shield

I want to put something around the cutout in my bodywork as shield against heat.

The area I want to cover is 30cm x 20cm

I was thinking of using Carbon fibre but don't know what sort of thickness to go for or if it is suitable.

Can anyone offer advice?

You could always line the underside with heat resistant matting as well
