Bluetooth Dongle

Bought a Bluetooth dongle from ebay, plugged it in, installed the drivers from the CD, then expected a little Icon to pop up on the taskbar or something. Tried installing the software but it wouldnt install.

Im sure when I tried my housemates dongle it just loaded up and worked.

Tried search for it with my phone too and nothing comes up.

Any ideas?

I had this problem, Ihad managed to get the software to work but my computer wouldn't recognise the dongle. When I removed the software and let windows install the dongle automatically it worked fine.

No help to you at all though

Also when every time I take the dongle out and plug it back in it has to re install the drivers even in the same USB port. Although now it finds the drivers on my hard drive instead of the CD.

I used the drivers on my hard drive to install my dongle. Once you have it installed check the net for updated drivers, thsi might solve the problem.

I've never gotten my BT dongle working properly with the proper drivers.
Try "WIDCOMM" drivers, they're a generic driver and works perfectly with mine...

I found the cheap Extra Value Compact Class I Bluetooth Adaptor (100m) "Safecom" dongles from ebuyer work really well and install without pain under both 98se and Xp

http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/92074

The even cheaper Veho dongle also gets good reviews
