RS2000 16v starter motor for a Type 9

A friend of mine is trying to fit an RS2000 engine out of a FWD escort to a Type 9 and is now stuck trying to find a starter that will fit.
From what I can find on the internot the 8v Sierra DOHC is a similar block but I think they only came strapped to an MT75.

Does anyone know of a starter that will fit the 16v flywheel and a Type 9.

Cheers

Paul

it is the same block as the sierra dohc,,dont know if the starter from dohc would fit,,,the flywheel on the sierra dohc was a huge heavy thing,,I would have thought the rs 2000 one would have been lighter, maybe someone on here knows more,,,,
I am sure someone here has got that engine fitted, remember reading a post..
might be an idea to search posts..

I have fitted the RS 2000 16v engine to a MT 75.
And i used the starter from a DOHC sierra 8 v engine.
The flywheel is lighter then the DOHC 8 v, but the starter ring is the same.
Sorry I can not help about the type 9
