Avon Screen

Would the tiger avon screen fit on the MK indy, i prefer the look of it to the Lolocost one, it looks smaller and sleeker. What are my other windscreen options?

westfield aeroscreen (expensive)
no screen at all (like Jaspers - wear a helmet)
Mac1 do a short/low screen, check their website.

remember no screen means no wipers or demisters to worry about for sva!

im not going to use and screen for SVA but will make/buy a perspex aeroscreen for after SVA!

IMO thats the easiest/best way of doing it no need to worry about wipers/washers and demisters etc.

Cheers

I cant afford a helmet at the moment, and cant really be bothered to wear one everytime i go out in the car. I went out in the tiger R6 and it was pretty hard to breathe/see. And i dont fancy getting any stone chips in my face!

greggors if i were you i would have an aero screen now and then change to a proper glass one, when the car has past the sva, you will defo need the large screen when it starts raining too so put it thru sva with the perspex one then fit the wipers. try and make it so the big glass screen will fit straight into the holes you cut for the perspex aero one as you dont want random holes in your scuttle.

I sva'd without a screen etc and fitted one afterwards. No wipers demisters etc. and it saves weight.

After a blat it needs a good clean to remove the dead ones. Its then that you realise that these would simply be all over your face etc

For MOT I simply remove the screen again. 4 bolts , 4 bungs job done.

why do you need to remove it from the car for the MOT?

Wipers and washers?

I fitted a screen after SVA, yet to do wipers etc. Found much more user friendly with a screen as you don't need to worry about wearing a helmet. After a short high speed run you can't believe the number of bugs you would have stuck to you without it. Mine is the same in that it can be removed in 10 mins, will get a aeroscreen for track days.

Erm... How big are your heads?

Windscreen = rather large area for bug splats.

Head = unless you're deformed is significantly smaller than windscreen.

I ride a bike so I know that you get quite a few bugs after a decent run but on a bike your head is not really out of the airflow. Surely the situation is greatly improved in a car where the airflow should be directed over your head because of the aero screen?

You should all just practice at dodging small black things heading toward you then you won't get splattered.
