problems after latest xp update

the error message i get comes on as the desk top boots up

RTHDCPL.EXE- illegal system DLL relocation
the system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. the application will not run properly
C:\WINDOWS\system32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address reserved for Windows systemDLLs
any ideas chaps,in lay mans terms i poss as i'm not fluent in computer

Can you go back to your last restore point (in safe mode) and you should be ok.
