I am fiting a Toyota 4AGE 20v with the w55 box and want to get the whole thing further back 150mm so I need to cut out the section marked "Q" in the book chassis how should I do this?

thats quite an important tube, why do you need the engine so far back?]

you would have to brace P to make up for it. Work out what has to go, fit the engine, and see what you can add to make up for it.

what about making the middle of Q into an X between the tops of the H tubes and P?

you still don't get a straight load path, as you would with Q, but from a 'looking at it' point of view, it would appear to work.

Can i ask if its such an important tube, that Mac #1 see fit to split is right in the middle and effectively have two at the ends of each footwell ?

You'd have to ask MAC#1 that im afraid (or MK).

I did edit to point out that anything can be done if you want, however there is no point making the engine bay bigger than necessary. If you want to move the engine that far back you may as well redesign the whole front to suit it.
