Vauxhall 2.2ltr?

I have been offered a 2.2 ltr engine from a 2002 vectra. The questions are

can I use it?

does it use the same bellhousing as the xe for a T9?

what about manifolds?

is the head worth getting by itself to fit to a short block xe?

Sparky

edit: Its for an upgrade so engine age etc is immaterial

I think you'll find this is a chain driven OHC unit, unlike the 2.2 Frontera which is a belt driven Ecotec unit.

Given all that, you obviously can't swop heads etc. As to if the engine is OK, it probably is but is probably on the large side. You would be better with an XE though IMO.

I'd doubt the standard injection system would fit, and guessing you'd be hard pushed to find a carb manifold for that engine, direct to head throttle bodies are an option, though will be expensive...
