I used the same from Wemoto on my Kawasaki engine. I think they are 10% stronger. They made a noticeable improvement.

I have the ebc set AND the ebc clutch, which most people DO NOT recommend, but I haven't had it slip yet (maybe a tiny bit, but I'm also using fully synthetic, which is another no-no) but even though I have driven the car almost everyday since being on the road, I haven't done millions of miles in it so I could be in for some slippage!

I would agree with others that you won't go far wrong with a standard Honda clutch plate set, but as for the uprated springs, other people on here tend to favour the Barnett set (which are meant to be like a modified Blackbird set?) I have no experience of them so can't comment.

But for the price of the EBC set - why not??

It's not as if it's a difficult or time consuming job if they tend to slip after a few thousand miles is it? You'll be changing your oil at some point ayway!

It might not be a PITA on a 'blade but it sure is on its sister engine the ST1100!!!! The main clutch nut needs to come off to do it!!!! Major pain in the arms....

Blade springs are a doddle

They may have changed in the last couple of years but EBC springs certainly used to be made of a fairly soft chocolate

They were OK to begin with but quickly lost their strength / length so within a short while were far worse than standard Honda springs.

Ring up PDQ in Slough and ask about the Barnett springs, I dont think they were much more than £10-12 when I got a set a couple of years ago for my RRV which were far superior to Honda and EBCs that Id used previously, if I recall correctly the part number you're looking for is MT-99-5

Mike, as Chris has said, changing the springs is easy, well it was on our RRW and I don't. suppose the RRV is too dissimilar.

We also got Barnett springs from PDQ, about £13.00.

Would also suggest you get a new clutch cover gasket.

Yep all the carbed engines up to RRX are pretty much the same, they have slightly different clutch baskets / covers through the years but not a lot different.

Not sure but its not very much and the legs in the clutch basket are very easy to break off / strip threads, so be very careful!

Only EBC kevlar plates are not recommended, and Fully Synth is the best oil you can buy for your engine...

as long as its MOTORCYCLE specific and not car oil
