hello buddy,

i have fitted Yamaha R1 bike carbs to my 2.1 pinto. you will have to have a manifold made unless you are any good at welding and you can make your own. they are very easy to fit and they seem to do the job well. they are very efficient and give a good performance, well as far as i know, but mine arn't balanced and my engine isn't tuned yet either

hope this helps

Al

I love Pinto's, even if i did get mine from P&O!

Have you got to rejet the carbs to suit. If so where can I get the info on the jets needed?

Don't know if its of interest, but contact "Rodocog", he is changing his carbs, so may have the manifold, and carbs for sale shortly. HTH Ray

definitley worth the effort to change we used zx9 carbs and the increase in power, smoothness and economy were significant, they seem to be very reliable as well once set up, they stay in tune and are in expensive when compared to webbers. we also drilled out the standard jets so no need to buy replacements.

Thanks to all for the info. It is looking like
ZX9R carbs would be a good choose. Webers cost too much and take up alot of room.

Thanks again Rob
