First proper drive out

Got my reg and tax disc through the post today Hoorah!!

Wasted no time in taking sister and dad for a blast. Not far granted, but they both thought it was fun

Went for a ride out to a mates in tilney and had a bit more of a ride around the twisties. Mind you the afternoon hasnt been without teething issues...

The drivers side front mud guard has come unstuck. Thankfully it didnt fly off. Its been stuck back on, but I think I am going to put some bolts through now as well.

The front passenger side wing stay was broken (fatigue) so thats been re welded, and is now going to get some stiffening plates/bars welded on underneath to stop it vibrating about.

And the throttle cables came out of the clevis' at the throttle end while I was out with my mate. Thankfully dad came to the rescue with a car full of tools. 10mins later was back having fun. Definately need to fit a pedal stop and re-assess the way the cables are attached to the pedal though.

Heres a pic of dad and I:

I remember the day you picked yours up.... I visited GTS that day too!

My wing stays didn't last much longer than yours!

Cheers,
James

Off to the coast tomorrow I think. Need to bolt the wings on this morning and sort out a permanent solution to the throttle cables. And stiffen the wing stays up if i can find some plate to do it. Will stick some decent pics up when I actually take it somewhere nice Might even find time for a vid...

Plate erased using good old photoshop

Helmets are Nitro N800V's both came from ebay.

Fuel - way too much as its running rich to start with, so only averaging ~20mpg

Done 500+ miles since friday, no serious problems yet I dont think. Wing stays seem to be holding up now but time will tell, seems to be back roads that kill them! Went to Hunstanton last night Just dont ask how much the petrols cost...

Nice looking car and good choice of colour

I think those rear arches will need some protection on though or else they are going to get well and truly blasted.
