Indicators

Would I be right in thinking that the indicator relay will not work without a load on it?

IE, none of my indicators wired up yet and no activity from the relay.

PS, Sierra butchered loom, all voltage in the right places.

yes you would be right
put a bulb in line and earth it to hear a pleasant clicking noise.

Do not use a voltmeter as it won't work. As for how I found out...
anyone want to buy a slightly used spare flasher unit

mine goes at double speed if 1 of the bulbs has gone. It doesn't sound unreasonable that it wouldn't tick at all without any bulbs.

Oh, and don't spend ages trying to troubleshoot why the LED flasher relay doesn't work. How was I to know it was silent, maybe I should have looked to see if any lights were flashing

as said, bi-metallic won't but pretty sure the electronic ones will; these are designed with trialers in mind so that slapping on more bulbs does not change the operating frequency.
