Side panel / exhaust clearance
Hi all. I have a quick question regarding exhaust holes cut in painted fibreglass panels.
How much clearance would you allow around each primary as it exits the side of the car so as not to damage the paint or fibreglass through heat
radiaton? I've allowed enough for the engine rocking as it revs but I'm not convinced I have sufficent room around the sides.
They're stainless steel if that has any impact on it.
I'd rather ensure that I'm ok with what I've got or fix the problem now, before I melt my nice new paint job or warp the fibreglass!

Measured it - about 1 finger thick so 10mm sounds right. The car is sprayed with Duco about 17 years old and no sign of heat stress.
