big problem with emissions

Hi,
Today i called the Dutch importer for MK with a few questions.
He told me that my MK Indy with 1999 fireblade engine with carbs could not get through the emissions without a lambda mounted. But a Lambda device on the exhaust can only work with injection did i think.
Does someone did this route before.
I really don't know how a lamba device can change the emissions with an engine that is carbed.

Please......give me some advice

Thanks, Marco

you can fit a Lambda sensor to use a air fuel flow ratio meter, but that will have no effect on the emissions.

My 1996 carb'ed blade engine went through emissions with nothing but a Cat exhaust and some time spent leaning out the mixture at the centre, so he is wrong there to be honest.

Marco
I have a cat kit (which I was thinking of selling) It is a cat, lambda sensor, control box and valves. It actively leans the mixture by bleeding air into the system between the carbs and the engine. I used it successfully on my 919 carbed fireblade and amalyos also got a good pass on his r1 see here

U2U me if your interested and sort some pictures out.

Pete

when you use the cat exhaust to do the test, you need to get it as hot as absolutely possible...
