La Bala - Passed my inspection and Street Legal!!!!

It's official - After almost 6 years from inception I finally have my prototype La Bala on legal terms with the laws of Arizona USA.

Drove to work today. The suspension is surprisingly supple on bumps but the car does wander a bit under hard braking to a stoplight in the ruts left by heavy vehicles. It's probably some deflection caused by the rubber bushings between the rack and the frame mounts. I definitely want to quicken my steering too as it's just too slow for my preference...

But Hey! I can now drive the car wherever and whenever I want!!!!

WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I am giddy like a little schoolgirl.

Kind thanks.

A funny story: My inspector was very serious during the inspection and I couldn't really tell what his thoughts were as it was all questions about matching the numbers of the engine to the title, verifying certain safety items, etc. But as soon as I received the plates his demeanor changed completely. He asked me to wait a minute before leaving, ( I was a bit worried) then he went inside and came back out with a bunch of his motor vehicle govt employee co-workers! I had to give the entire story of how I designed and built the car, how fast is it, how does it drive, are you selling them... etc. It was pretty neat. I did have a hard time leaving the parking lot as a number of other passersby needed to ask me all kinds of questions too.

I think the point is, don't be in a hurry when you drive this car.

A short video shot by my 12yo son as passenger... In weather conditions that have made Arizona famous. 81*f, 20% humidity, and not a cloud in the sky. pretty typical fall/winter weather.
