Removable side impact protection?

Lets say a fellow wanted to build a seven with (shudder) doors. One takes Cymtriks design of using a bit of rectangular tubing at the sills, tying into a standard tube chasis on either side and a roll cage overhead. This gets used on the street. Then, when a track day comes along, we take a couple robust tubes with a connector or two between them and bolt them into the roll cage. The question is: Are there any details out there that outline a structurally sound way to make that connection? I have some ideas, but I suspect that this problem has already been addressed by someone. Bonus points if race sanctioning bodys endorse the detail.
