Good luck on your quest for a diff but miracles can happen especially at Christmas

A pint for the gent and a white wine/fruit based drink for the lady. Those are the rules

Since I'm only in the planning stages of a BEC (R1) build I've got a little question...is there any significant difference in the acceleration between a 3.14 and a 3,54 ratio diff in 5th and 6th gear?

you could always get a landrover freelander diff which i think is 3.18:1 they are lighter too, and you can buy them new

No experience of the R1, but i changed from 3.62 to 3.14 with a ZX9, yes there is a difference in acceleration in all gears, but in the lower gears you just seem to hold a gear longer, and in top gear on the motorway, when you boot it at 70 it still goes to the red line damn quick.
weird thing is, my drag times fell after the switch, more traction off the line i guess?

Andy i would consider a 3.38 to be well suited to a ZX9, probably easier to find and cheaper than a 3,14

the early 2.3 diesels had a 3.14:1 diff. I know, because that's where mine came from.
