Motorway noise
How is the noise with a BEC constantly at 6k RPM on the motorway? Is there much noise from the engine or is the windnoise dominant? A trip to the Ring
is about 3.5 hours for me. Afterwards I also have to drive back

Me and a few mates done this back in the summer- 2.5 hr drive to dover then around 5-6hrs to the 'ring' (the last 1.5hrs in the pi$$ing
rain) absolutely brilliant enjoyed every minute.Didn't get to drive the ring though,we had fog/rain parts of the track were flooded-this was in
aug!! going back for more this year
If it doesn't fit MODIFY it!!
Cheers BriF

Its not the volume but the pitch that annoys. Its funny, but full throttle acceleration in a BEC is glorious but a constant drone is a pain.
I have a big silencer on mine, and an induction silencer. Most of the noise comes from the engine itself and from the generator.
Actually, at motorway speeds, most of the noise is wind noise 'round my crash helmet.

If you ride a sportsbike then I imagine it would be a similar experience.
Cold, Noisey and uncomfortable.
I'd take the A roads, the eifel region is great for driving I've been told.

I have plugs that can take care of the windnoise. Guess it should be fine.

loud but bearable (until the packing falls out of the silencer! ). Pair of ear plugs under your helmet would go down well.

Whats wrong with you lot? I rode a Z1000 with no silencer on it for 4 years (way back in the 80's) and it never bothered me.
Just use ear plugs under your helmet and it will be ok

I have no idea.... My daily transport when I was 17 was a 350LC with Lomas pipes, followed by a GSX1100E with no tailpipe!
Ear plugs and a helmet are your friends!

Balaclavas are good for keeping the wind noise down as well and they keep your neck warm.
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I can't say bacalava! Or bacaruda!
Ive always found bacalava's stretch, or more precisley, compress the helmet innards. Nice snug fit untill the summer comes then so loose, it
only stays on your bonce by the strap. Better off with a neck tube and good plugs.
