Corner Weights
What are the typical corner weights for a locost build? Could do with some data to do some braking calcs.
Cheers

Hi
I don't know what a typical locost is as there is so much variation in peoples builds.
My own is a +4" IRS stainless chassis with ally bodywork.
It has a 16g s/s welded floor and a spare wheel mounted on the rear.
With a weight on the scuttle to represent a windscreen and a 3/4 full fuel tank I weighed mine with a twin bathroom scale setup.
front n/s 164kgs, front o/s 164kgs, total 328kgs
rear n/s 161kgs, rear o/s 161kgs, total 322kgs
Total 650kgs
(This is without driver or passenger)
To be honest I was rather pleased with this.

Thanks 907, that is helpful ...it will definitely give me some ball park figures to base my calcs on.

Hi generally speaking most of the cars regardless of the exact weight are ussually around 52% - 55% rear heavy with driver and fuel on board. If that
helps you at all.

Oooooer Matt.
Assuming 75% of the drivers weight on the rear wheels, 25% on the front......
I would have to weigh about 700Kgs
What's that in real money?
Only joking
