I give up - where's the fuel cut-off in a Ford?

I popped into a scrappy today to see if I could find the safety cut-out switch on a Ford (the thing that cuts power to the fuel pump in a crash or roll-over). I found a few Mondeos, an Escort and an Orion, but couldn't find the switch anywhere. No injection Sierras though - I know where that one is!

So, can anyone give me precise directions for finding these mythical beasties in an average Ford?

cheers,
David

In Scorpios / granadas they are in the boot lower lip under a trim piece.

In fiestas they are in the drivers / passengers footwell - right next to the door opening.

Dont know about the others

Passenger left-hand kick panel on a mondeo, I found that out after a crash and a frantic phone call to my Googling brother while the car was sat broken at a busy junction

So how do I find this kick panel?

If I'm sitting in the passenger seat, whereabouts would it be? Is it easy to remove?

Or should I save time and petrol money and just get one off the bay of 'e'?

David

kick panels are footwell trims between floor and dash just in front of the doors

Ahh - I understand!

Would I be able to get the socket and some loom wire if I get the panel off?

In the mean time, does anyone recognise this switch off e-bay? Any idea what it comes off?

I used one off a rover 400, it was located on the drivers side inner wing but apparently most are behind the centre console on rovers.
