BMW E30 headlight diameter anyone?

Seems you lot are the fountain of all knowledge. So, has anyone got a BMW E30? I need to know the diameter of the headlights. I see these headlamps coming up on e-bay quite a lot and not making much money, so they could be just what I'm after, but before I part with my hard earned, I need to know if they will fit.

So, anyone got one? Or know the diameter off the top of your head?

Also, whats the layout of the lamps, I guess one is sidelight and dip and the other one is just main beam?

Thanks,
Steve

As close as I can measure with the lamps on the car, the total diameter is 150mm.

That's correct. Outer lamps are sidelight and dip, inners are main beam. There are two OEMs with slightly different lens patterns - Bosch and Hella. The Bosch lamps are sometimes called 'smiley' lamps because the lens shape looks like a smiley face. If you squint

Cheers, Chris

Thankyou very much.

150mm? much bigger than I thought. Not sure if they'll fit now.

And I'd heard about 'smiley' lamps but was too embarassed to ask what it meant.

I've just bought a set of the 90mm dia hella lamps that SVC sell. £200 per set is expensive but they are very nice.
