No discussion about Detling yet?

No one seems to be discussing Detling yet... so i thought i would start the ball rolling...

Anyone heard if it will be worth it this year? I went last year and bought quite a lot but the show was a bit disapointing (not quite as bad a donnington!)

I have already booked a B&B for the Saturday night in maidstone as i will be in the area and SWMBO has given me 'permission' to go on the sunday and, hopefully, get hold of any last minute items i need for SVA

Personally I think Detling is one of the better shows in the UK, second only to Stoneleigh. Being the first one of the year you often see the new projects that have been happening over the winter period like the Epona.

I was going to camp out overnight but was told by the organiser that I have to be a member of a club to do so as there is no public camping!! Is anybody else mad enough to camp out! Or is it just me!! If nobody else is I probably won`t bother either, I`m not sitting in a tent in the middle of a field in kent on my own I can tell you that!!

I'm driving back from holiday on the saturday... Scotland to Basingstoke then on to maidstone....

Back to Ipswich after the show on Sunday...

Amazing that SWMBO allowed it! perhaps it's the lure of a trip to bluewater on the way back!

I've never been - it's too far away and I haven't had my injections.

However.

There is some talk of Haynes hiring a helicopter to get down there.

See, I knew that one day all that pointless scribbling would pay off.

Now, get off my land.

If I go it'll be Sunday.

Anyone arranging a meet-up point at all?

Cheers,

Copied from original thread:-

Is anyone going to the Kit Car show at Detling this weekend and comes from the South Coast(or M3/A3 Corridor)?

I have a bonnet to be collected and do not really have the time to get up there due to other commitments.

If someone is willing to take it to their house so I can collect in the week then their is cash for beer or car parts ready and waiting.

Please U2U if you can help

Weather permitting im going Saturday.

I went last year, wasnt that impressed as expected more of an auto jumble, but did get my wiper system, and Bright 6, also metal for bits, from an engineering shop outside Maidstone on the way to the show.

Im just writing my shopping list now for this years.

Not that far for me either from Orpington.
