Jim dudley Avon book

Does the above book contain chassis plans, or is it just a "how to bolt the bits that you bought from us together" job??

Cheers

Ed.

It does contain 'ahem' plans for the chassis - however...........

read back through a few of the threads in this area to gain an idea of the book and it's contents! (or lack of)

or alternatively I have reproduced the entire text here for you:>>>>

You missed out the bit where you have to sellotape the book back together after the 1st read.

Read the book, all will become clear.

The front end seems quite well designed, the rear end looks like an afterthough, adapted for IRS.

Cheers

Chris, same as Ron's really......

I defy anyone to build one without either.......

a) asking someone for missing info. or
b) guessing and making up your own answers...

If I released either set as allegedly real "drawings" they would be back on my desk in 5 minutes swimming in red ink....

However, if you want some good guidelines and inspiration both books are pretty good...IMO

I have both books and I only ask, because I built my car from Rons book, and I wouldn't be able to do the same from the tiger book, we seem to be a few dimensions missing.

Cheers

There are updates on the Veloce web site, plus I know of at least one person who's done it, and has correct dimensions.

Cheers

i am trying to build one from the avon book and rons
rons seems to be drawn by an engineer
and the avon drawings arnt
i have had to work itout myself as lots of dims are missing and the drawings have no datums
i think the avon book is only just better than a build manual
cheers dave

A new book - maybe this one will tell you how to build an Avon?
