SVA Passs Today

Yesssssssss, we passed our SVA at second attempt today at Mitcham.
Ian the examinor was once again a great chap and checked a few bits whist we paid the retest fee ( £32 ). He then checked the leaking brake union, brake pressure readings and was happy with the letter that I had written to re-state the design axle weights.
Once he had checked out all the brake bias figures it turned out we did not need to fit a brake bias valve, and he watched as I locked wired this is in the fully wound off position.
I will post picture of the valve later to help anyone out.
All in all it took no more than 30 minures, nice sunny day, now for the dvla bit.
Felt like screaming it from the roof tops as we trailered it home, shame we did not insure it for the period, but that will come soon enough we hope.

Congratulations, you must be really pleased and rightly so. Hopefully I'll get mine tested this year, if we ever get nice weather when I'm not in work.

take it this weekend is spent filling out forms for registration

Well done richard

Wimbledon VRO are not too bad, i had to que a bit but once in the firing line it was pretty easy.

One thing i was lucky on was carrying some cash for a change, 4 years ago they didnt take bank debit cards or credit cards it was cash or cheque only. I walked out of there with 6 months tax and 2p in my pocket

Congratulations!!!!! Good luck with the DVLA. Hopefully you'll get it sorted ASAP- you won't need to scream it from the rooftops for everyone to know you've passed SVA- you can let the exhaust cans do the talking

Thanks for the comments gents.
I beleive we have to go for Sidcup office for my area code, Forest Hill.
The inspector was happy with the bias valve and said it had to be adjustable with tools and in our case that would be wire cutters and is in the engine bay.
I am relying on the man who advsertise in the car mags to do the registration process ( £35 ), all the forms already filled in with him and just have to send the MAC form and the insurance, driving licence now, hope he has got it right as he says that Sidcup is one office that do not want to know about our car untill we pass SVA and he helped us do our own chassis number, although when i first phoned sidcup before this they said they would have to do home visit before SVA and would allocate chassis number based on this, but once again they were not sure. Time will tell.

Thanks again guys for all your comments, feel bloody fantastic at the moment. Make's all those lonely hours in the garage worth while.
Bit of a worry for you guys who have not yet finished as the inspector a mentioned the new test next year and the fact that they will not get trained untill after it is inplace ?
Looks like it will be like the insallation of SVA a few years ago.
