MK Indy with sr20det

Hi

I'm just looking at ordering an MK Indy.
I have been looking at a couple of engine's. I was just wondering if they are possible?

1. XE
2. c20let
3. sr20det (my fav if possible)

I would like 1 of the turbo set up's but not sure about space for intercooler etc

Anything is possible with enough £££'s

You don't see many Indy's with those engine in, however graememk has a 1.8 nissan turbo engine in his so im guessing the sr20det would be possible but he might be able to give you a better idea.

Yes there has been an XE in an Indy, I saw one in the MK workshop so they should be familiar with the fittings.

There has also been Rover SD1 and Honda S2000 engines fitted, again anything is potentially possible, just depends on expense and how complicated you want to make it.

Cheers

Ian

I have these photos.
- The car if currently for sale, based in the london area.

Thr current owner re-engined it as it is now, and said himself it was a rair choice of engine in an MK. Although there are many other sevens with the Xe in them

I have the xe, running twin 40's (at the minute) with Opel manta getrag gearbox.
there was also another xe indy at the teeside track day a couple of weeks ago.
Plenty xe's fitted to westfields and I know of one westie being built using c20let. So a popular engine and plenty power can be had .

cheers Graham

Just to add, if using the getrag box the engine sits at 7 degrees,
You can use the type 9 box using a custom bellhousing either 7 degrees or level.
