Fixing a MiniSD memory card
I have a 2GB MiniSD card that fits in my phone. It's been working OK until I did something wrong with it the other day - not sure what, but
probably removing it before it was ready.
When I put it back in the phone it brings up a 'corrupt memory' error. If I try to re-format it in my PC it says it's 465KB and
formats to that size.
Does anyone know of any repair software that may teach it the error of its ways? I did a Google and the same software came up over and over again -
it's described as 'freeware', but what gets downloaded is so crippled that it's useless. The full version costs $45, and as I
can buy a new card for £6 I don't think I'll bother, thank you!
All I want to do is attempt to reformat it to 2GB...

I got some software with a SanDisk memory card which apparently restores data on a card, not tried so can't comment on the effectiveness. Drop
me an email if you want it and I will try and find somewhere to post it on a site where you could download it.

I tried the Panasonic software last night - it decided that the card was set to read-only, even though the tab was in the read-write position.
I'm not sure if it's the card, or the crappy card reader I'm using (could easily be the latter). The only decent card reader
I've got is fixed into my Linux box, so not much use here.
I suspect that the card is well screwed and not worth the struggle considering how cheap a replacement would be - but I hate dumping something that
could possibly be fixed.
Andy - I would like to try your software, if possible.
cheers,
David
