crossflow v pinto

Hi all;
Ok, I'm a bloody monkey,just posted a running gear question in the chassis section but I'm new at this
Anyway,can anybody tell me if the crossflow motor fitted to the Ka lends itself to RWD conversion without spending huge amounts on a bespoke bell housing?
Any advice would be a greatly appreciated.

The Ford Ka engine is not a X'Flow in the accepted sense of the word. It's an HCS engine of basically the same type as fitted to Fiestas from about 89 onwards. From 96 they come with an aluminium sump and slightly different port arrangement on the head - meaning the aluminium inlet manifold can't be used (plastic on Ka).

As all Fords do, it will fit a T9 or similar box, just clutch to sort out, but not a big problem there. You'll have to think about sump shortening though and pick up pipe as you will be going from FWD to RWD.

IIRC there isnt a hole for a spigot bearing on the HCS engines....but may stand to be corrected on that.

Dont just build it.....make it!

You might be right Stu, but don't think so. I'll look at one in morning and post again. I think there's a hole that'll take a spigot bearing even though there isn't one in it.
