yessss, charracter building.... is that what they meant when i drove my mums peugeot last night, and the throttle jammed wide open in a narrow street with a car coming the other way, and later at a roundabout, i put my foot on the accelerator, and there was no power...

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Chris

My mate is a very good spanner man even though he now works in truck testing for VOSA... anyway, he and I both have 1.9 diesels and his clutch started leaking a few months back. He wasn't 100% it was the clutch but figured it was one of the only things it could be so proceeded to take the thing apart to investigate/fix. The words he used to describe the process aren't for the weak and certainly not for small children under the age of 21!

A cucking funt would be an understatement! When I went over to see how he was getting on most of the front of the car was missing! When Conrod quotes those hourly figures, remember they are for Renault day-in day-out boys with all the right tools. On the drive in the rain expect a good days worth at least with lots of swearing about how annoying the French are... most probably not even designed by the French but blame them anyway!

After he'd finished his he said to me "if you're clutch ever need doing you can f*** off to a dealer!" and he's my best mate who'd do anything for me!

Of course don't let all that put you off... it's all experience.
